At least, Rapids press releases swear up and down this is true.
As news comes in, we'll keep everyone updated with all the important bits right here, so keep checking back.
12:45pm: It's UP!!! And it looks like we'll be called "Arsenal Colorado."
11:22am: still nothing ;-)
11:20am: Nothing
11:15am - NOTE: ColoradoArsenal.com used to be password-protected. That protection is gone and it is now showing a blank page (no html coding).
Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE) is set to make some big announcements (plural) regarding the fate of the MLS team that plays home games in Colorado.
Sorry to be so roundabout, but it appears more and more likely, based on research and a lack of denials by Team Management, that the new name of our beloved MLS soccer team will be:
Colorado Arsenal, but until the ink is dried and the deal is done, I don't expect an announcement on this.
What we do NOT know is if the name change will be a part of the news today or tomorrow.... or perhaps whenever the Rapids get around to it.
