Arsenal Alliance

We would love to elaborate on the new marketing/development deal with Arsenal F.C.U.K. but we just gave you all the details in two words.

Sure, they say things like: Arsenal Cup. But don't explain what it means. American club teams will be allowed to play. Pro? Amateur? Invitation? U-17? Old enough to drink? Who knows?

There's the Arsenal Center of Excellence to be located at The Dick. Sounds grand. If someone knows what it means, they are keeping mum.

"exchange of best practices" means, I sincerely hope, that we get all the good stuff (both on and off-field) from Arsenal and send none of our own 2-bit management their way.

Oh, and our guys get to see what training at a top-flight soccer club in London is like for a week. Then they come home.

Truly, a "ground-breaking alliance" that will "benefit both clubs significantly."

Don't get us wrong: conning Arsenal into working with the Rapids? Pure Guinness...errr... Genius. We just wish there was some meat to the arrangement. You know, we're asking Mgmt. to show a little leg!

We'll give Dick'stator Plush the final word (from the Denver Post): "It is intangible," said Jeff Plush, the Rapids' managing director.
