If you’ve been missing out on SuperLiga 2007 (the big-money million dollar party the Rapids weren’t invited to), you’re missing out on exciting soccer being played right here in the USA. LA vs Pachuca was a blast to watch, and any time we can see DC embarrass themselves into a tie is nice.
As usual, Rapids Management is scared soft at the idea of promoting a game aggressively, so figured their best shot to fill seats was to bring in not one, but TWO Mexican teams to the Dick to duke it out. That means there’s no MLS team showing up to root for, I suppose. Hopefully you considered making it out last night and picking your least-hated Mexiteam and your favorite pair of earplugs.
If you missed it, well, don't worry because I did as well. I was too busy digesting the news that the Rapids managed to form a vague, soon-to-be disillusioning partnership with a major powerhouse soccer team from another country.
Pachuca, in this case. Luckily, they won last night over the (real) Goats and may have a chance in the next round, although I'd have to go through SuperLiga School to remember how the round-robin was working.
Anyway, say hello to our new bestest friends with benefits, Ha-choo-ca!
Gezundheit.
