Let's Not Forget!

It certainly has been a year of extreme Ups & Downs. From the wonderful new home of the Rapids with the excitement of a year with great expectations to the 10 game winless streak where we're not on the outside looking in to the MLS Cup Party.

But while the team itself is giving coronaries and migraines to the passionate fans, Class VI has done nothing but rocket to the stars.

We've continued our growth and the tailgate has been outstanding. People are making wonderful friendships - and the internal debate on how a supporter should show their colors has been passionate yet respectful.

I was recently emailed this - and I think it's a testament to every single member we have that forms Class VI. Remember, it's YOU that makes CVI what it is ... and this is just special:

My name is Nate and this is my first time as a season ticket holder. My family consists of a wonderful wife and four fantastic kids (2 boys, ages 16 & 11 and 2 girls, ages 7 & 5). We are devote Colorado Rapids fans and enjoy each and every time we’re in Denver.

It just so happens that our tickets for this season were with the Class VI group, what a blast! I had no idea such a group existed. Your group is very friendly and is not foul mouthed as in other events we’ve attended as a family, which is a HUGE plus! At opening day we were even given maroon shirts stating “No Fan Left Alone”. When I mentioned to the guy handing them out that we weren’t part of “his” group, he just smiled and said “Well, you’re sitting in section 108 aren’t you?” We were extremely pleased with his generosity and happy-go-lucky candor that the rest of the cold afternoon wasn’t even on our minds, not to mention we felt like we were really part of the Class VI when we exchanged our current shirts, to our New Class VI shirts. The only thing then that I was thinking was, How do I Buy those cool scarves? (Sorry Nate - Sold Out!)

Since that opening day, I researched a little more about the Class VI. I really liked the idea of not having to join a group that required us to attend meetings or pay fees, or were obligated to bring things to each game. We also thought the pre-game party/get together sounds fun and struck our interests. I would also like to say that my family lives in Gillette, Wyoming. Each and every game we attend is a 350 mile trek south. We absolutely enjoy our excursions south and the kids love every opportunity to stay in a hotel for a few days. They’ll learn someday that those few day outings add up to many, many dollars.!

So with the 2008 season renewal upon us, we were wondering whether or not it would be possible to join the Class VI even if we have a hard time making all your pre-game festivities? It seems like we’re always doing something when your “party” is going on. Coming from a town of 25,000 to a city like Denver, gives us so many exploring opportunities in finding things to do as a Family. So we’re just going to have to make it a “Must Do” on our family agenda.

So this is where I am currently, I feel like we’re in the Class VI section anyway, we cheer with the Class VI …..We have fun sitting with the Class VI, so why not just join the Class VI!!! Thank You, and hope to hear from you soon.

Nate

Welcome to the family Nate!!!
