Lead up to MLS Cup '07
There are many events leading up to MLS Cup '07, from the announcement of Player of the year to the upcoming Tuesday announcement of the newest MLS team to be based in Seattle (Shhhh, it's a secret)!
As part of these events my wife --a designer and artist-- was commissioned several months ago to create an installation art piece for a private collector in D.C.
Kathleen is currently in the nation's capitol delivering and installing the final piece this weekend before tonight's game to decide the final MLS Cup '07 team. (Don't forget to watch the game tonight, on FSC!)
The artist ultimately decided on acrylic-on-canvas as the final medium, but used several intermediary steps in the process. Beginning with a series of related collages, Kathleen ultimately abstracted them to the final work, an expressive, inter-related triptych wall installation.
