The British Bulldog Pub (Broadway & Stout, Denver) will be hosting the Colorado Rapids viewing party this Saturday night, Halloween weekend.
The game starts at 6:30pm so be there early if you want a place to sit. And don't be suprised if a Rapids player or two joins us! In the past Terry Cooke, Mike Petke, assistant coach Steve Trittschuh and others have shown up at the Bulldog for a game when they've been injured or suspended...or benched ;-)
CHARITY NOTE: The British Bulldog will be collecting clothing items to donate to the Volunteers of America. You don't need to bring an item but the Rapids F.O encourages everyone to pitch in and bring something. The VOA is especially short on men's clothing, but any and all donations are accepted and encouraged.
The headline from the Denver Post sums it best. The Rapids lost 2-1 at Invesco on a chilly night. Watch for viewing party announcements this week for next saturday's game (10/28/2006).

Don't forget Game 1 of the 2006 Western Conference Semifinals this Saturday night. The game is at 7pm at Invesco Field. Get your tickets now and catch the Rapids at their last game at Invesco Field. They take on FC Dallas who haven't won a playoff game since 1999. Come cheer on the Rapids with Class VI!
Well, the Rapids did it!!! They are in the playoffs - Hooray!
The game will be this Saturday - at 7PM at Invesco.
The Playoff Ticket Price is $20 - but it's Buy One Get One Free. Contact Marcus ASAP for seats to CVI at mmyrick@pepsicenter.com
If you have unused Season Tickets (regular season) you may exchange those for this game - but get it done promptly (according to Marcus).
The viewing party at the Bulldog was great fun for all - and we welcomed 3 more CVIers to the group! Two of which I'm sure if you were at the Bulldog - you took notice - because they were the Bride and Groom stealing away from their reception for the first half of the game!!! That's a Serious Fan huh? Congrats on your marriage Adam and Kelsey!
We've now hit the 75 member mark (our end of season goal) ... things are going very well. Hopefully we'll be close to 100 when we open up the new home in CCity.
See you all Saturday for the traditional thumping of FCD in the playoffs.
(if you aren't getting this as an email as well - check your spam filter for bodmer99@msn.com)
Here's some more information on former Rapids Head Coach Glenn "Mooch" Myernick (1997-2000). He passed away yesterday morning.

Before Saturday night's game the Rapids and Red Bulls stood behind a large sign acknowledging Mooch.
The Rapids have also posted an article about Mooch with some great quotes as well as links to others' thoughts on the great force in American Socccer.

Mooch most recently was Assistant Coach of the US Men's National Team. Here's an article from US Soccer called Memories of Mooch.

The "Bodmer 6" shirt
Mark Bodmer, Fearless Leader of the Rapids Class VI seating club and supporters group, is presented a token of appreciation from all Class VI members. As a true supporter, he's also got his Rapids cap and Class VI pin on, as well as his Beckerman Briefs (not shown).
Thanks Marky Mark!
How do you know Class VI is a success? Well there certainly are many different factors - and everyone takes from Class VI what they want - but I can point one out that nearly all of us can agree on - no body had those inflatable noise sticks in their ears all game! Hooray!!
Hopefully there will be one more home game to gather together for - but incase there is not:
I'd like to thank everyone for the shirt - that was extremely kind! (Chris thanks for the beer too!) You all caught me off guard - good thing I didn't man cry!
I wanted to drop a few Class VI thank yous out there as well - because Class VI certianly is not just Mark Bodmer - we've been successful cuz so many have gotten involved.
Tina did wonders for the Class VI road trip - and next season will be heading up the travel arrangements for Class VI. We've got some good road trips planned out - and details will follow. So thank you Tina for the efforts in the Salt Lake City trip (which was a blast) and for stepping in for next year.
Josh has done a great job at heading up an indoor soccer team in Westminster for CVI - it's been great fun (except for my injury!) and a significant number of VIers have stepped onto the field to enjoy it. Consider playing in whichever season CVI next plays - the skill level isn't the highest - so don't feel intimadated - I'd say if you've played ball in the past - you'd probably enjoy playing. Thanks Josh!
I also want to thank Joe - he's been helping at approaching people about CVI at the games and at the British Bulldog. We've nearly gotten to our season end goal of 75 - and Joe has been a great part of that. I even had someone I knew who Joe approached give me an evaluation - and well I think Joe does it better than me! And he doesn't lose things and forget like me.
I want to give a nice thank you to Bill and Greenie - both of whom I run by all my ideas past on CVI. They keep me focused and down to earth. Bill also gets props for hosting our website!
We gotta give a nice thank you to Marcus - our Rapids Ticket rep - he's really done a fantastic job for us - and if you enjoy CVI - he's the guy to give props too. Jason Linscott too - he's the Director of Ticket Sales - and has backed Class VI from the start.
I want to thank Laura - my wife :-D Think of how annoying her life is with me and CVI - enough said :) She's the absolute BEST. And to everyone that has enjoyed Kai and Dillon too! They both love you all!
Karen and Ben - they both did graphics work for us that lead to our logo and flyers.
To everyone that has brought treats to the game - shared beer in the parking lots - and really (and I know it's cheesy) but a big thank you to everyone that's a part of CVI. It's a fantastic group of people - and you all are the reason it's a great section - and great supporters group. Lots of commardarie - lots of laughs - and lots of good vocal support of the team.
I also want to thank Issac from the British Bulldog - for the banner - and for giving a home to Soccer fans in Denver - it's a great pub - and we've had a lot of great times there during the season. Please - support the British Bulldog with your patronage if you're looking for a place to watch ANY soccer match - the food is great - and the people are warm.
I hope I didn't forget someone's efforts - I'm sure I have - and if so it's simply an oversight on my part.
I ask that you all continue bringing people to CVI - and if they look like they want to hook up with us - get me their names/emails - so I can add them to the roster. The more of us there are - the more we'll all benefit.
Looking ahead to next season - we're going to try to launch a few new things:
> pre-game gatherings (tailgating) where there is a CVI grill - and all you need to do is bring your food to be cooked and drinks to be dranken :)
> CVI player of the year award
> Pre-season party - hopefully with a guest speaker.
> More Road Trips
> Improved website (hopefully with message boards for people to participate more)
If you have ideas - as always - let me know - you'd be surprised at how much of CVI is YOUR ideas.
And finally - some team news:
First the sad, a former Rapids coach Glenn "Mooch" Myerick has passed away at a very young age (51 I believe). He has served for the last couple world cups as Bruce Arena's assistant coach for the US Mens team. He took us to the MLS Cup Final in 1997 and the US Open Cup Final in 1999. If there is one last home game for us (playoffs) - I'd appreciate a volunteer to create a banner to hang infront of our section for Mooch. Please - let me know.
Second, many of you probably already know about rebranding as we move into our new stadium. It sounds like we'll still be the Rapids - but our colors will be changing again. There have been people who have seen the new kit - and we are changing colors from black and blue. We will NOT be green as we originally were however. But the people that have seen it cannot say what we will be. This comes from more than one source - and has been passed by word of mouth.
Third, The Rapids Reserve team won the Reserve division. There were a nice hand full of fans there to watch the game in Broomfield. The team got a nice little trophy and some prize money for the players to share in. If you EVER want to meet a player - hit one of these reserve games. They are free - they are intimate - and the players are all great people. Coach is one to always lend an ear as well.
{pssst} Werd on the street is that there's a game going on Saturday night. Pass it on!
Hey! Final home game of the season, and the Rapids have ensured we care by hosing up the their past two attempts to seal up a playoff spot.
I like to think we're just teasing those poor fans over at FSL Utah :-)
Note from our Chief: Please wear your jersey, or black or blue shirts!
7:00pm kickoff and tons of great giveaways including the popular Free Soccer Ball Night!
Even better, our only direct viewing of the season of Mr. Chris Henderson, making his return with the Red Bulls.
See all you Class VI'ers there for our final FU to Invesco's cavernous stadium, in preparation for the warm welcome we hope to see next year in the new Rapids stadium!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ahem, sorry, got carried away there.
Anyway, bring a treat to pass along at the game, and we'll see everyone at the tailgate before hand. Bring your pins and maybe a friend or 5!
The Rapids Reserves are on the verge of winning a trophy!!! They are at the top of the reserve table - and have a very good chance at winning the Reserves League.
Give the young guys the support they need - with two games left - the next one is here in Colorado!!

I'm please to let everyone know we're closing in on 75 members!! Fantastic for a first season... wish the Rapids were still building success though.
For the last home game - let's all try to wear Blue, Black, or a Rapids Shirt - to kind of show off the size of the section!!!
Wear those pins (if you'd like one - they are $4) and say hello to your fellow Class VIers - we'll have a fair share of guests in the section this last game.
